Lettuce Wraps

Over our Christmas vacation my mom brought home a recipe from work that we were going to try. We made this recipe on our very last day of our vacation. It turned out yummy! These were great lettuce wraps and we made it as a family.

LETTUCE WRAPS
Enough lettuce for 16 lettuce pieces (wraps)
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 large onion-chopped
2 Tbs. minced garlic
1 T. soy sauce
2 tsp. minced fresh ginger
1/c cup hoisin sauce
1 Tbs. apple cider vinegar
2 tsp. sweet chili pepper sauce
1 can sliced water chestnuts--drained finely chopped
1 bunch green onion--thinly sliced
2 tsp. Asian sesame oil

Direction: Rinse lettuce leaves, keeping them whole. Set aside to drain. Season chicken breast with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. cook in olive oil in large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked turning once. Remove from skillet and chop chicken into small pieces. Saute onion and garlic in a little oil until onion is softened. Add chopped chicken, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, vinegar and chili sauce. Add water chestnuts and green onions. Cook until onions begin to wilt, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in sesame oil. Arrange lettuce leaves on the outer edge of a platter. Spoon meat mixture in center. Allow diners to spoon meat mixture into lettuce leaves and eat like a taco.

Chinese Chicken Noodle Salad

Today I made Chinese Chicken Noodle Salad. I have been wanting to try this for a while. Here is the recipe.


Salad Mixture

*1bag of shredded cabbage

*1 to 2 cooked chicken breast cut in pieces

*1/2 cup slivered almonds

*1/4 cup green onions (chopped)

*2pkg. Ramen Noodles


Dressing Mixture

*2 tbsp sugar

*2 tbsp white vinegar

*1/2 cup oil

*1tsp soy sauce

*pinch of salt

*pinch of pepper

*Flavor pkg from the noodles.


Toast almonds in oven at 350* for a few minutes, until lightly browned. In a large bowl toss with shreded cabbage and other salad mixture ingredients.


In a seperate bowl, mix together the dressing ingredents. Mix, pour over salad mix. Chill and serve.

Cake Cookies

Today I made chocolate cake cookies. They were very tasty. Here is the recipe if you would like it.


Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 7 minutes
Ingredients:
· 1 package cake mix, any flavor
· 2 eggs
· 1/3 cup oil
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Remove 3 tablespoons from the cake mix and set aside.
Add eggs and oil to cake mix and combine until smooth. If mix is too wet, add more dry mix. Drop in one inch balls on ungreased cookie sheet or baking pan. Bake for approximately 7 minutes or until slightly browned, being careful not to overcook.

When I grow up I want to be a Chef so I made this page because my mom let me have this blog. I am so happy to have this blog. I want to learn lots of recipes. I want to be a chef because we are growing a garden in are backyard and my mom lets me cut all the stuff with a huge knife. THE END
